NORTH WEALD RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION CONCERNED OVER SALE OF LAND OFF A414

The upcoming auction of land by Sworders of up to 6 plots of land off the A414 close to Tylers Cross is of great concern.  Many residents have contacted committee members of NWRA to voice their concerns and ask what can be done.   Unfortunately NWRA does not have the money to purchase any land so this means until the land has been sold and we know who the purhaser is and therefore their likely plans, there is not much that can be done, other than keep an interested eye on events.   However, the land is designated greenfield which means it will be difficult for any potential purchaser to get planning permission.   Once the outcome of the sale is know, if there is support for an open meeting this will be arranged.  NWRA will continue to take residents concerns on this and any other matters to both the Parish and District council and ask that residents contact us through our website, www.northweald.org.uk or email NWRA@live.   If residents have formed themselves into groups to communicate and coordinate ideas please contact NWRA if you would like to make your contact details available on NWRA website.
Ongoing threats to North Weald remain the proposed SARS site, the relocation of EFDC SITA site onto the Airfield and lack of a published plan for the Airfield, all of which NWRA are working on making sure the best interests of North Weald residents are properly represented together with the Parish Council and our local representatives.
Please continue to contact us with your concerns and ideas and if you would like to become more involved with NWRA please get in touch.

PROPOSED NEW GOLF COURSE
Plans have been submitted for a new golf course which covers the land from Skipps Corner, across the back of Thornhill and Weald Common to the boundary of Tempest Mead and then following the rail track up to the bridge. NWRA have received several letters from residents who both support and oppose this application and as such are obligated to take a neutral position on this issue. We would suggest residents who wish to subject an opinion write to Cllr Dave Stallan (dave.stallan@tesco.net) or Cllr Peter Collins (pjcollins22@googlemail.com). The parish council have rejected the initial application and it will now proceed through the usual channels of appeal.
NWRA work closely with councillors and will endeavour to keep residents informed of any new developments with regard to these plans. Full details of all planning applications are available from Epping Forest District Council and can be viewed on line.

Note to residents who completed their consultation document online

It has recently been reported that problems may have been encountered by residents who completed their Gypsy & Traveller consultation online via the Epping Forest District website.  Apparantely it has recently been revealed that some responses may be incomplete due a word limit restriction in response boxes.  If you did complete your consultation online, it may be worth checking with Epping Forest District Council directly to ensure that your complete response was received.
Over 60% of North Weald residents respond

The deadline for submitting your comments to the Epping Forest District Council consultation regarding potential gypsy and traveller sites expired on 20th February 2009.

Representatives of North Weald Residents Association hand delivered over 2000 completed responses from local residents to this consultation.
