Possible reasons why this site may not be suitable
- Proximity to main road – The A414 is notorious for high speed traffic with poor visibility. When this site is used for car boot sales during the summer, special marshalls are required to direct traffic into and out of the site.
- Flooding – this site floods during the winter months making it unsuitable for vehicular and pedestrian access. Vehicles exiting the site would bring slippery mud onto the main carriage way causing a danger for other drivers.
- Poor public transport
- Unsafe for pedestrians – there are no footpaths on this stretch of the A414. This would force users of the site to walk down the main carriageway
- Proximity to school – As this site backs onto a school playing field particular consideration should be given to the negative impact the distraction may have on a childs education
